Q. Do I have a drinking problem – and can Hypnosis help me?
Hypnosis is all about control. You can take control of your mind, willpower, and cravings in a way that allows you to have strength over an addiction to alcohol. Alcoholism itself leads to numerous health problems, especially liver damage, but can also create social and legal problems. If you are not sure about whether or not alcohol consumption is a problem for you, ask yourself these questions:
Do You Have a Drinking Problem?
1. Do you feel drinking is making you a happier person?
2. Do you have a sense of remorse after drinking?
3. Have you missed time from work or school because of your drinking?
4. Has the quality of your performance at work or school declined?
5. Do you drink alone?
6. Have you ever blacked out or forgotten where you are while drinking?
7. Has your drinking been the cause of tension or arguments with friends or loved ones?
8. Do you think about drinking throughout the day?
9. When you are drinking does it change your personality?
10. Do you spend money you really can’t afford to at bars or on alcohol?
If you answered yes to some of these questions, then hypnosis is the right tool for you to take control of your life and control alcohol’s role in it. Suddenly stopping alcohol consumption can have dangerous medical implications if you are an alcoholic. Hypnosis is effective in changing your thinking about how and how much you drink. You can safely reduce the amount you drink and find the confidence to quit altogether through hypnosis.
Clinical Hypnotherapist, Steve G. Jones, leads a self-hypnosis therapy that uses the strengths already within you to overcome any kind of addiction. Addictive behaviors may be driven by cravings but are also the result of habit. Replacing one habit with a healthier one can be achieved through hypnosis.
“A huge help”
“I have been listening to your Hypnosis for Alcohol and it’s been a huge help, and for this I wanted to take this time to thank you. It’s really a wonderful tool, and I love how I can drop in once a week, or maybe even once every two weeks just for a listen. It’s empowering.”

Controlling Alcohol:
Hypnosis has been found to be effective in the treatment of alcohol abuse. In a study conducted at the Hospital of the West Indies, patients were asked to complete an intensive hypnotherapy program aimed at stopping their alcohol abuse. In this study, 77% of participants had stopped drinking and, when contacted one year later, were still able to abstain from drinking (Barnaby, L., & Gibson, R.C., 2008).

Living substance free can sound boring, can’t it? Hypnosis, or the hypnotic state, getting down into a special trance-like state between sleeping and waking, is an amazing place because we are so much more likely to take a suggestion deep into our mind. Hypnotherapy, self-hypnosis, hypnotism, it’s about getting around the skeptical part of us, the part of the brain that blocks us from moving forward and getting through to the part that will help us.
Living without drugs or alcohol can sound boring. Alcohol numbed our pain when we needed it, provided social joviality, didn’t turn on us until later. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis can provide the same joy, reinforce the goals we really want, re-juice our tired engines without the side effects.
New brain scan technology shows that hypnotic suggestion can cause the pleasure centers of our brains to light up. In a 2005 hypnosis and brain-imaging study conducted at the University of Iowa, Doctors found that hypnosis actually blocks pain signals from getting to the part of the brain responsible for discomfort. This goes for everything from emotional pain to surgery in a dentist’s chair.
Good hynpo-therapists know that people who drink too much do so for many reasons, not just to avoid pain. Sometimes there seems to be a biological imperative to drink too much. Sometimes childhood memories seem to drive us to full blown alcoholism. Sometimes we just want to quick drinking for personal reasons. Hypnosis has proved to be one of the most helpful tools available.
The American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, April 2004 sites a study where 261 veterans were admitted to Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs. Results in this study on alcohol and hypnosis revealed that the individuals who played the self-hypnosis MP3s “at least 3 to 5 times a week” for at least 6 weeks reported, at their two month follow-up, the highest levels of self-esteem and serenity, and the least anger/impulsivity, in comparison to the minimal-practice and control groups.
The Journal’s study also showed that the groups who used the self-hypnosis mp3s felt more in control of all their habits, their drinking, their eating, their social behaviors, and showed significantly higher abstinence rates than the groups that just got stress management therapy. At the one year follow up, the group who continued to use hypnosis and self hypnosis mp3s on a regular basis had insured themselves with extra relapse prevention they always had at their fingertips.
It is important to make listening to your mp3 a good experience and a relaxing one.
“Stopping me from drinking alcohol”
“I’d like to thank you most sincerely for stopping me from drinking alcohol. Within a week I was completely teetotal and managed to remain so even across the Christmas and New Year Holiday, which in the UK is about 10 days of parties etc.”
-Stephen Todd, UK
Steve G. Jones takes you to the next level, puts the wind back in your sails, and reminds you that YOU are a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!!!
The challenge with overcoming alcoholism and getting it under control and quitting drinking permanently is the same challenge one would face with any compulsive habit such as gambling, cocaine use, sex addiction, or anything similar to those.
You will engage in the activity, enjoy the activity, regret doing the activity, promise yourself you will never do it again, and then you find yourself doing it again as if you had never made that promise.
You will repeat this pattern over, over and over until you bottom out. Until something happens to you that makes you decide once and for all that you are done with this habit.
So, alcohol consumption, when it goes to an excess can be difficult to control and eliminate without expert help.
We tend, as humans, to do what we need to do and nothing more. In that moment when you feel down and out and you feel like alcohol has controlled you and ruined your life and negatively affected your relationships with friends, family, and even people you meet who you don’t know, when you realize when that is happening, in that moment you have power unfortunately in that moment you’re usually drunk.
And so that power that you had in that moment feeling terrible at the end of a night of drinking tends to disappear and be wiped away the next morning or afternoon when you wake up somewhat sober.
As the day progresses, you tend to forget those good reasons for quitting drinking. However, once you have lost excess money, health, friends, self respect, and things which really matter to you, then you have the ultimate power you need to stop drinking once and for all.
It’s at that time, when people usually turn to things such as hypnosis to help them stop drinking.
Whether or not you have bottomed out doesn’t matter. Hypnotherapy for alcohol abuse is helpful whether you have just begun drinking or whether you are pretty good at it. Hypnotherapy can help.
I’d like you to realize that many people have been where you are now. Many people have been to the point where they thought their life was out of control or they thought that alcohol was controlling them. They felt powerless, they felt they could not get better, they could not stop drinking, and yet they were able to do so with the power of hypnosis.
I myself, do not drink alcohol. I decided one day that I would stop because I could not see any advantages of consuming alcohol. So, since I am a hypnotherapist, I simply told myself to stop drinking and I stopped. I haven’t had a sip since.
This power which I have to make a firm decision and stick with it is no different than the power that you have which lasts the rest of your life. People change in an instant and if you decide right now to never drink again, you have the power with or without hypnosis to have that be true in your life.
If you feel that you need my help with hypnosis to control alcohol or to stop drinking permanently, I want you to know that the recording that I have developed is rock solid. It incorporates everything which I know about controlling compulsive behavior and it focuses that knowledge on you.
So when you listen to the recording every night for 21 nights, you’ll find a deep sense of peace and the change that you’re looking for. That change being the power to stop drinking or to cut back on your drinking. That choice is yours. This recording gives you the power to do either. I hope that you will make the appropriate choices in your life no matter what road you go down, no matter which path you chose for healing, in my experience, hypnotherapy is the best and a permanent way to control any habit.

All of us like to have a good time. Whether we are out with a group of friends, or at home enjoying a quiet evening, we all like to relax, especially after a long day at work. I often have people emailing or calling me with the concern that they drink a little too much. I always ask whether they think that alcoholism could be a problem and I also ask if it runs in their family. I am not trained to work with alcoholics and I refer them to their local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Most people I talk with would just like to cut down on the amount they drink. They wish to have a little more control over how much they imbibe. It’s easy to go a little overboard when you are in a social situation and people are drinking all around you. It’s also easy to have too many drinks when you are alone and you have nothing better to do.
I encourage people to drink in moderation and to only drink a few times a week. I also encourage clients to set limits. Many choose to cut themselves off after one or two drinks. And if they have had something to drink in three of the past seven days, they turn down a drink. They key is moderation and control. After getting into the habit of disciplining yourself, it becomes second nature and drinking alcohol becomes very easy to control.
Here is a sample of the Control Alcohol script used in this mp3:
You are relaxed now and because you are so relaxed, you begin to feel free from all tension, anxiety, and fear. You now realize that you are more confident and sure of yourself because you have taken the enormous first step toward helping yourself. You begin to feel the strength from within, motivating you to overcome any and every obstacle that may stand in the way of your happiness. You will find that from this moment on, you are developing more self control. You will now face every situation in a calm, relaxed state of mind. Your thinking is clear and sharp at all times. You begin to feel that your self respect and confidence are expanding more and more each and every day, in every way. You now realize that in the past, alcohol was an escape and a weakness that you are replacing with confidence, strength, and self control. Alcohol was an escape and a weakness that you are replacing with confidence, strength, and self control. You are becoming a happy person now with a positive attitude towards life. You are succeeding now and you have all the abilities for success. You no longer desire alcohol.

If you have a problem with controlling your alcohol consumption, then we encourage you to seek help with hypnotherapy. In the United States it is suggested that women drink one serving of alcohol per day (as well as people over the age of 65) and men should limit their intake to two servings of alcohol per day. The following are considered to be one serving:
- 12 oz. of beer
- 8 oz. malt liquor
- 5 oz. of wine
- 1.5 oz. of 80-proof liquor
All for of these quantities have basically the same amount of alcohol. Drinking above the recommended amount can impair your ability to function properly and cause other health problems.

We suggest that you listen to the hypnosis session every night before going to bed for 21 nights in a row. You may start to see results after the very first session, but we suggest listening to the recording for three weeks so that your subconscious mind is programmed to allow you to be in control.
