This Privacy Policy explains how Steve G. Jones Clinical Hypnotherapy, LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use stevegjones.com, courses.stevegjones.com, certifications.stevegjones.com, our online stores, and the Dr. Steve Hypnosis app (together, the "Services"). It is part of our Terms of Use.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Contact and sign-up details: your name and email address when you sign up for free downloads or emails, contact us, or buy something.
- Order details: what you bought, when, the price, and your billing name and address. Card and payment details are handled by our payment providers (Shopify, PayPal, Apple and Google). We never see or store your full card number.
- Certification account details: your email address, password (stored scrambled, never in plain text), the registration code from your course, exam answers and scores, and the certificates you earn. If you earn a certification, your name, the certification and, if you provide them, your city/country and website appear in the public directory of the American Union of NLP (AUNLP®) or the American Alliance of Hypnotists (AAH™).
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, social media, or through the chat assistant on our website.
Information collected automatically:
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, the website or ad that brought you to us, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar tools: see section 3.
We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
2. How we use it
- To deliver what you buy, give you download links and course access, run exams, and issue certificates.
- To send you the free downloads and emails you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To answer questions and provide support.
- To understand which pages, emails and ads work, so we can improve the Services.
- To show you our ads on other websites and apps, and to measure whether those ads lead to sales.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, keep the Services secure, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
3. Cookies and the tools we use
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. We and our partners use cookies, pixels and similar tools:
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages people use |
| Google Ads and Google Tag Manager | Measures whether our Google ads lead to sales and lets us show our ads to past visitors |
| Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) | Measures whether our Meta ads lead to sales and lets us show our ads to past visitors |
| Chatbase | Runs the chat assistant on our website; your chat messages are processed by Chatbase |
| Shopify | Runs our shopping cart and checkout |
| GetResponse | Sends our emails and tells us which emails are opened and clicked |
| Cloudflare | Protects the sites from attacks and spam (including the "verify you're human" check) and measures site speed |
| Our own "sgj_src" cookie | Remembers which ad or link brought you to our site, so we know which ads lead to sales |
Your choices: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site, such as the cart, may not work without them. You can also limit ads through Google's Ad Settings, Meta's Ad Preferences, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run parts of our business for us: Shopify and PayPal (payments and orders), GetResponse (email), SiteGround (website hosting), Cloudflare, Google, Meta, Chatbase, Apple and Google (app stores), and our staff and bookkeeper as needed.
- Advertising partners (Google and Meta), through the cookies and pixels described above. Some state laws call this "sharing" or "targeted advertising"; see section 6 for how to opt out.
- The public directory, for certified students, as described in section 1.
- Authorities or others when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our rights, our customers or others.
- A buyer of our business, if the business is ever sold.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order and certification records as long as you might need them (for example, to re-download a purchase or verify a certificate) and as long as tax law requires. We keep email sign-up details until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (section 6).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Texas and other US states, the European Union and the United Kingdom), you may have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- opt out of targeted advertising and the "sharing" of your information with advertising partners,
- withdraw consent you gave us, and
- complain to your local data-protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll confirm your identity and respond within 30 days (or 45 days where state law allows). We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Visitors in the EU and UK: we use your information to fulfil our contract with you (orders, courses and certificates), with your consent (emails, and advertising cookies where required), and for our legitimate interests (security and improving the Services). Your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
7. The Dr. Steve Hypnosis app
The app doesn't ask for your name, email or account details. Purchases in the app are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. If you tap a link in the app that opens our website, this Privacy Policy applies to what you do on the website.
8. Security
We use secure (https) connections, store passwords in scrambled form, and limit who can see customer information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Links to other sites
Our Services link to sites we don't control, such as YouTube, Amazon, Spotify, Skool and social media. Their own privacy policies apply.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know by email or on the site.
